HookOrbit
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026.
This page explains, in plain language, what data HookOrbit stores, what we use it for, and who we share it with. The controller of this data is Christopher Allan Morales, an individual residing in Colorado, United States. If you have any questions, write to us at hola@gethookorbit.com.
1. What data we store
- Your email address, to identify your account and send you necessary emails (confirming your account, resetting your password).
- If you sign in with "Continue with Google": your name and profile photo, exactly as Google shares them with us.
- When you created your account and your plan (Free or Pro), and how many generations you use each day or month, to apply your plan's limits.
- Your generation history (ideas, scripts and hooks) is stored in your account, not just in your browser: you'll see the same history if you sign in from another device. Only you can see or delete it — no one else has access to your history. We keep up to 20 generations on the Free plan and 200 on the Pro plan; once you hit that limit, the oldest ones are deleted automatically.
- Your chosen language (Spanish or English), also stored in your browser, to remember it next time.
- Creator links (affiliate program): if you reach HookOrbit through the link of a creator who works with us (an address ending in
?ref= and a code), we ask whether we can store a cookie named ho_ref with that code for 30 days. It's only used to know which creator recommended you if you create an account; if you say no, nothing is stored. If you create your account, we record in it which creator brought you. The creator never sees your email, your name or anything about you: they only see totals (how many visits, accounts and subscriptions came from their link). If you pay for Pro, that earns them a commission that we pay: your price is the same.
- If you're a creator in the affiliate program: your name, your country, the PayPal email we pay you at, your commissions and the payments we've made to you. You send us your tax form (W-9 or W-8BEN) by email and we keep it outside the app; we never store your tax ID in HookOrbit. If you were introduced by a recruiter (see the next item), that recruiter sees in their dashboard your affiliate code, how many active subscribers you have (the number, updated once a day), since when and until when you're assigned to them, and what they earn thanks to you. They never see who your referrals are, your email or your payout details.
- If you're a recruiter (an invitation-only program for people who introduce creators to the affiliate program): your legal name, your country, the PayPal email we pay you at, which tax form applies to you (W-9 or W-8BEN) and when we received it, your earnings and the payments we've made to you, and every change to your PayPal email (the old and the new address, for security). You send us your tax form by email and we keep it outside the app; we never store your tax ID in HookOrbit. In your dashboard we show you, for each creator you introduced, their affiliate code, how many active subscribers they have (the number, updated once a day) and what you earn from them, without identifying anyone: you never see who those subscribers are or any of their data.
- The optional photo you upload to inspire ideas is sent to the AI to generate them, but it is never stored: it's discarded as soon as that request finishes.
- The video you upload to the analyzer (available on the Pro plan) is sent, only to analyze it, to the AI model that produces the analysis (Google's Gemini, which we access through OpenRouter). Before the analysis, the video may also go through automated content moderation that checks it doesn't contain nudity, graphic violence, self-harm or minors in inappropriate situations; when that moderation is active, it's done by Sightengine. We don't store the video: it's deleted from our server as soon as the analysis finishes, and none of those services keeps it or uses it to train their models (see section 2). What is stored in your account is the result (the scores, comments and fixes, together with the niche and platform you picked), so you can track your progress. The result may also include a short text description of the scene, written by the AI: the setting, the lighting, the clothing, the tone, what is seen in the first seconds and the key object, with no names or physical traits of anyone; we use it to suggest hooks for that video. It may also include a text-only visual style (the lighting, the colors, the type of place, the framing, the camera movement and the pace), with no people, names, brands, on-screen text or identifiable places (anything that doesn't meet that is discarded before it's stored); we use it so the clips for that video match your style. It is text only: we never store the video or any images from it. The hooks you request for a video are also saved in that analysis and in your history. We keep up to 50 analyses; once you hit that limit, the oldest ones are deleted automatically. If you shrink the video before uploading, that happens in your own browser and the original file is untouched.
- If the automated moderation rejects a video because of its content (or the model rejects it), we keep a record of the rejection: the date, which service rejected it, the category (for example, "sexual content") and, where available, the moderation's confidence level. Never the video or any image from it. That record is used to enforce the Terms (several rejections block the analyzer on the account) and we keep it for 12 months. The decision to reject is automatic; if you think it got it wrong, write to hola@gethookorbit.com and a person will review it.
- AI video clips (when they're available on your account): starting from a hook, the app builds a text that describes a scene (with no people, without your name or email, and never your video or images from it) and sends it to the service that generates the clip (see section 2). The generated clip is stored in private storage (Supabase Storage): only you can download it, through a link that lasts 10 minutes. It's kept for 30 days and then deleted automatically; you can delete it earlier in the app. For each clip we also keep a record for as long as your account exists, even after the file is deleted: the hook, the text sent to generate it, the model, the length, the tokens it cost and the result of the automatic review (whether it saw text or people).
- AI-content labels: every clip carries, inside the file, a metadata note saying it's an AI-generated video made with HookOrbit, and a signed C2PA content credential stating it was created by AI. Those labels don't include your name, your email or your account identifier (only an identifier for the clip).
- Your tokens (the unit used to pay for clips): how many you have, where they came from (your plan, a pack you bought or a gift), when they expire and which clips you spent them on.
- If the video generation service rejects a clip request because of its content, we keep a record of the strike (the date and the reason). It's used to enforce the Terms (three strikes in 30 days pause clips on the account) and we keep it for as long as your account exists.
- If you're on the Pro plan: the identifiers Stripe assigns to your customer record and subscription, whether it's monthly or yearly, its status (active, canceled, payment pending), the date it's paid through, and whether you asked to cancel it. We never see or store your card number: you enter it directly on Stripe's page.
2. Who we share data with, and why
- Supabase: actually stores your account and your password (encrypted — we never see it).
- Resend: sends account confirmation and password recovery emails.
- Google: if you use "Continue with Google", Google confirms your identity to us; we never see your Google password.
- Anthropic (Claude): receives what you type in the form (niche, topic, tone, platform, duration, and the photo if you uploaded one) to generate the ideas, hooks and script. If you request hooks for an analyzed video, it also receives the text of that analysis (including the scene description), never the video. For clips, it receives the hook you picked, your niche and, if the clip comes from an analyzed video, some text data from that analysis (the setting, the lighting, the key object, the tone and the visual style), never the video, to build the text sent to fal; afterwards it reviews three frames of the finished clip to check it has no text or people. Those frames aren't stored. We don't use it for anything else.
- fal (Features & Labels, Inc., United States): generates the video clips. It receives only the text the app builds describing the scene (without your name, your email or any account data, and never your video) and passes it to the video model you choose: Kling, by Kuaishou, or Veo, by Google. With every request we ask fal not to store the request or the result and to delete the clip file from its servers after one hour; in that time we download it and store it as explained in section 1. fal handles that data under its own privacy policy (fal).
- Sightengine (Kozelo SAS, Paris, France): when the automated content moderation described in section 1 is active, it receives the video you upload to the analyzer to review it before the analysis. It reviews it frame by frame and, under its terms, doesn't keep it once the review is done, nor use it to train its models. It handles that data under its own privacy policy (Sightengine).
- OpenRouter (OpenRouter, Inc., United States): the intermediary through which we send the video, your niche and your platform to the AI model that produces the analysis. OpenRouter doesn't use the content to train models and doesn't keep the video beyond what's needed to pass it to the model (except as required by law or to detect abuse). It handles that data under its own privacy policy (OpenRouter).
- Google (Vertex AI, the Gemini model): the model that watches the video and writes the analysis. We deliberately use Google's zero data retention option: Google doesn't store the video or use it to train its models. Google handles that data under its own privacy policy (Google Cloud).
- Stripe and Link: Pro plan payments are made through Link, Stripe's payment service, which acts as the merchant of record for the subscription. We give Stripe your email and an internal identifier for your account so the payment is linked to you; your payment and billing details (card, name, address, country) go to Stripe directly, since it needs them to charge you and calculate taxes. Stripe may also use browser and device data to prevent fraud, and Link sends you receipts and invoices and handles billing questions. If you create a Link account when paying, that account is yours with Link. Stripe and Link handle that data under their own privacy policies (Stripe, Link).
- PayPal: only if you're a creator in the affiliate program or a recruiter, to send your payouts to the PayPal email you give us. PayPal handles that data under its own privacy policy (PayPal).
We never sell your data to anyone, nor use it for advertising.
Where your data is stored: Supabase (which stores your account in its West US region, in Oregon, United States), Stripe, Anthropic, Resend, OpenRouter, Google and fal may process your data outside your country, mainly in the United States; Sightengine, when involved, processes it in the European Union. They are all providers we use only to run the service, each with its own security and data protection measures.
If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom: we process your data to provide the service you sign up for (performance of a contract) and, for the automated content moderation, the review of clips and the record of rejections and strikes, on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the analyzer and clips from being used for illegal or harmful content. When your data goes to the United States it does so with the safeguards provided by the General Data Protection Regulation: providers certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission. You have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing and take it with you, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos).
3. How long we keep your data
For as long as your account exists. If you delete it (or write to us asking us to), we delete your account and its data (see section 4). Records of rejected videos (by the automated moderation or by the model) are kept for 12 months and deleted with the account. Clip files are deleted automatically 30 days after they're generated (or earlier, if you delete them).
What we keep after you delete your account, and why:
- Your payments: Stripe (and Link) keeps the record of your payments (amounts, dates and receipts) for as long as tax and accounting laws require. We also keep sales records for as long as the law requires.
- If you were a creator in the affiliate program or a recruiter and earned commissions or received payouts: we keep your email, your commissions and the payouts we made to you, because they are tax records. If you never earned any, everything is deleted.
- If you came through a creator's link: the commissions your payments generated are kept in that creator's records, but no longer linked to your account in any way.
- Backups: we make encrypted copies of the database so we can restore it after a failure. They delete themselves within about 60 days, so your data may remain in them until then; we don't use them for anything else.
- Technical logs: server logs and logs of sent emails (which may include your email address) are deleted automatically after a limited time.
- Anything the law requires us to keep (for example, to respond to an authority or report illegal content).
4. How to delete your account and your data
You can ask us at any time to delete your account and your data: write to us at hola@gethookorbit.com from the same email you registered with (so we know it's you). You don't need to give a reason. We delete your account and everything tied to it: your history (ideas, scripts, hooks and analyses), your favorites, your clips (the files and their records), your tokens, your plan usage and, if you were an affiliate or a recruiter, your program data (except what is kept under section 3). If you have an active Pro subscription, we cancel it so you're not charged again. We'll confirm by email once it's done, within 30 days at most (usually much sooner).
5. Your rights
You can ask us at any time what data we have about you, correct it, or delete it, by writing to the email above. You can view and download your invoices and receipts yourself under "Manage subscription".
6. Changes to this policy
If anything important changes, you'll see it reflected here, with the updated date at the top.
